NEW YORK, January 2, 2020 – The Armory Foundation announces the U.S. Air Force as the title sponsor for the 26th Annual Hispanic Games. This year’s U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games will take place at The Armory in Washington Heights on January 3-4.

“The U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games provides a great opportunity to communicate our core values and inspire young adults,” said Major Ross McKnight, Chief, Air Force National Events Branch at Air Force Recruiting Service. “We’re excited to partner with The Armory Foundation and have the chance to show appreciation to the deserving intellectually and physically talented students who are participating in this event.”

The U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games is one of the country’s largest high school indoor sporting events, and in 2019 the Hispanic Games attracted 5,900 high school track & field athletes. This year’s meet includes many of the top metropolitan area track & field student-athletes as well as teams from many states on the eastern seaboard. In recent years, many athletes at the Hispanic Games posted U.S. No. 1 performances on The Armory’s “Fastest Track in the World.”

The U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games was created in 1994 to honor Washington Heights and its Latino community. There will be a special “Leaders of Tomorrow” recognition event on Jan. 4 honoring student-athletes who excel in the classroom.

“The Armory is delighted to welcome the U. S. Air Force as the title sponsor for one of the most prestigious high school meets held in the United States,” Armory Foundation Co-President Rita Finkel said. “They bring a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm with them, including the famous Falcons from the U.S. Air Force Academy.  It promises to be a wonderful meet.”

Friday’s opening day is from 5 p.m.-10 p.m., and Saturday will be from 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m. General admission tickets are available at The Armory and reserved tickets for Saturday are available by clicking HERE or going to ArmoryTrack.com.
