Sean Dixon-Bodie flew 51 feet, 6.50 inches (15.70m) in the triple jump Saturday, moving into a tie for No. 13 all-time at the U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games at The Armory in New York.

"I was only expecting 50 feet," the Bloomfield CT senior said. "I wasn't expecting 51. I like to get the crowd involved. When it was quiet, I got the crowd into it. Had the blood going. Went for it."

"I'm going to stay humble. Keep working. Get to the end of the season. Then onto indoor (nationals)."

Dixon-Bodie was fifth at New Balance Nationals Indoor last year. On Saturday he improved his best mark -- indoors or out -- by more than a foot.

When an opposing coach asked Mount DeSales MD coach Paul Whittaker what his daughter Juliette was capable of running in the Girls Invitational Mile on Saturday, he didn't hesitate.

"4:44," Whittaker said.

When Juliette tore away from the field after the first lap and went on to post a startling 4:44.74 win to clinch a spot in the NYRR Millrose Girls High School Mile, dad's suspicions were confirmed.

"She's a trackster," Whittaker said. "She had a really good cross country season. She made the Foot Locker team. That was our goal. Right now she's running on the strength of that. She opened up on Monday with a 2:07 800 without much training."

Juliette, a sophomore, targeted a Millrose bid since last year, when her team ran there in the 4x800 relay

On Satuday, she stunned herself.

"I was aiming to go under 4:50," she said.

Whittaker's sister, Isabel, ran 54.84 to easily win the 400 meters.

"To be able to run this fast so early is exciting," Isabel Whittaker said.

Kingsway NJ's Stone Caraccio pendulumed near the front of the boys invitational mile. When his time came, he was ready to strike.

"I knew there were going to be a lot of really good runners," Caraccio said. "I knew it was going to be fast. I wanted to stay with the leaders then break away."

Caraccio's fast-closing final 200 earned him a 4:18.25 win and a Millrose berth.

Germantown Academy PA's Mofore Abinusawa opened with a 6.94 victory in the 55-meter dash.

"I got a good start," Abinusawa said. "That's what I've been working on. I think my finishing could be better. But I feel good about the race."

St. Joseph's Prep PA's Salim Epps won the invitational 400 in 48.97.

"I wanted to come out and get a good time early," Epps said. "So that I could lead the state (and get a state-meet qualifying mark)."

Paul Robeson NY won the girls 4x200 relay in a US#1 time of 1:40.24.

The Eleanor Roosevelt MD 4x200 relay of Laurenz Colbert, Khalid Hornsby, Naziah Davis and Jordan Valentine won the boys race in 1:30.39. Eleanor Roosevelt beat Bloomfield CT, which ran US#1 1:29.61 in the prelims but then suffered a DQ in the final.

Bishop McNamara MD's Mya Bradley won the girls triple jump with a leap of 38-1.50 (11.62m).

"This was a roller-coaster of a day," Bradley said. "I went from 36, got myself to 37, then 38. I didn't have a great finals. I felt great on the runway but struggled going from the second phase to the third phase."

Germantown Academy's Isabel Goldstein won the girls invitational 3,000 meters in 10:12.79.

One of the day's most exciting events was the girls long jump, where Imhotep Charter PA's Nyashia Cooper (17-11) led throughout before Freeport NY's Efe Ofokemi caught her on the final jump (17-11.75).

"I was really trying to get higher with every jump," Ofokemi said. "I was trying for 18 feet. But it was close enough."
